As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are weighing up a move for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel in the event that either Alejandro Garnacho or Marcus Rashford depart the Premier League club.
It was reported yesterday that Tel would leave Bayern Munich on loan this month with Chelsea and Arsenal also monitoring the player’s situation. With just hours remaining of the January transfer window, where the French youth international ends up is anyone’s guess.
But with Garnacho interesting Napoli after their move for Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi stalled, Manchester United will look at strengthening their wide areas with Tel an option for Ruben Amorim’s side.
Missing just one game through injury, Tel seemingly isn’t in Vincent Kompany’s plans, as of now. The 19-year-old has played just 396 minutes of football across 13 games in all competitions this season. For a player who was important for Thomas Tuchel towards the end of last season, the Frenchman just hasn’t been called upon.
