L’Equipé reports that Eintracht Frankfurt are strongly considering bringing in another striker to help compensate for Omar Marmoush’s departure. As expected, fitness issues preclude new January signing Elye Wahi from making an immediate impact. Wahi wasn’t even fit enough to feature in Dino Toppmöller’s SGE squad in Sunday’s 1-1 league draw with Wolfsburg.
It’s thus the case that Eintracht are aiming for a very big name indeed on transfer deadline day. Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi could be on his way back to the Bundesliga. The 55-times-capped international once made 10 top flight appearances whilst on loan at Borussia Dortmund in 2018. The former Chelsea and Palace man has been playing the Turkish first division since 2022.
L’Equipé reports that Frankfurt are attempting to negotiate a short term loan for Batshuayi with his current Turkish club Galatasaray. Batshuayi only just moved to the Turkish giants from league rivals Fenerbahce this summer. The veteran forward has scored seven goals in 28 appearances across all competitions for the Super Lïg champions thus far this year.
A six-month-loan while Wahi gets up to speed would make sense.
