Borussia Dortmund eye potential alternative option to Lyon’s Rayan Cherki

Borussia Dortmund are set to conduct an overhaul of their squad in the summer, with Rayan Cherki to be a key piece, however, Bild reports that Dortmund are also looking at alternatives to the French youth international.

die Schwarzgelben’s number one target is Cherki, after they tried to sign him twice over the past year; however, due to the nature of Lyon owner John Textor, it may be difficult to pry the 21-year-old away from Lyon due to him being too expensive. The French side have set an asking price of €30m, and Dortmund will likely face competition from England, which could rule out a transfer.

Dortmund are also interested in Rosenborg’s Sverre Nypan, the 18-year-old, who can leave the Norwegian side for €15m.

Strasbourg’s Sebastian Nanasi and Sunderland’s Jobe Bellingham are also of interest to Dortmund but are unlikely to move to the Westfalenstadion. Nanasi wants to take the next step in his career, while Sunderland are interested in selling Bellingham, but if Premier League sides show interest, a move is out of the question as Dortmund will not be able to afford the English talent, despite their links to the Bellingham family.
