Borussia Dortmund’s winter signing Carney Chukwuemeka is a doubt for their UEFA Champions League game against Lille on Tuesday night, Niko Kovač confirmed in Monday’s press conference.
The Englishman had a “small incident” in their Bundesliga win against St. Pauli on Saturday afternoon. “He collided with someone and had slight problems with his thigh after the game,” said Kovač, before adding that BVB “will see how things develop overnight.”
One player that is available again is Julian Ryerson. The Norwegian defender was absent from the game at St. Pauli because of illness but is expected to make a return to Kovač’s starting line-up at the Signal Iduna Park tomorrow night.
“He will be ready to play tomorrow,” said Kovač.
Borussia Dortmund come into their game against Lille unbeaten in their last three games across all competitions and have kept three successive clean sheets.
Karim Adeyemi is also a man in demand from Kovac, who has relied on the German attacker in every game.
