As reported by Christian Falk, Arsenal are interested in signing Leroy Sané this summer as a free agent.
The Germany winger’s current deal expires this summer, and there are no current negotiations with Bayern Munich to extend it.
At 29-year-old, securing Sané on a free transfer would be a huge coup for Arsenal. The winger has ample experience and could easily play at the top level for the next five years or so.
What’s more, Sané could be tempted to North London in order to reunite with head coach Mikel Arteta. The duo previously worked together during their time at Manchester City.
As previously reported by GGFN, there have been talks about extending Sané’s contract. However, he would be taking a financial hit as Bayern seeks to reorganise its wage structure.
Sané would be on a performance-based contract while taking a lower weekly wage. However, this type of offer isn’t even being discussed.
Right now, Sané will be a free agent this summer, and Arsenal will be there trying to sign him.
