German transfer experts Florian Plettenberg and Philipp Hinze are both reporting that RB Leipzig and West Ham are in advanced negotiations over a loan deal for Portuguese striker André Silva.
The German Red Bulls have long looked to offload their expensive transfer flop and outgoing transfer rumors have been surrounding the 29-year-old for quite some time.
RB trainer Marco Rose has found some use for Silva this season, lending him 15 appearances across all competitions. Silva converted a penalty in a match-day 13 win over Kiel.
Silva’s move from Eintracht Frankfurt to the Saxon capital reportedly cost RB some €23m. The attacker’s failure to thrive at his current club has seen his estimated market value drop from a peak of €45m in 2021 to €5m today.
Plettenberg and Hinze report that talks with the Hammers center around a six-month-loan with an option to buy. Whether or not the East London side are prepared to take on a portion of Silva’s exorbitant salary remains to be seen.
