Predicted Bayern Munich XI vs Augsburg

The Bundesliga returns after the international break with the opening game of the match day being a duel in Bavaria as Bayern Munich host Augsburg.

The biggest doubt heading into the game is surrounding Manuel Neuer. The keeper has cut short his training this week several times with a hip injury. The 38-year-old is not 100% certain for the game against Augsburg and with Sven Ulreich missing for personal reasons, Daniel Peretz could be handed his first Bundesliga start for Bayern.

Midfield is where the most change is likely to occur. Over the international break, João Palhinha suffered an abductor injury with Portugal and he will likely miss the rest of the year. Add this to Aleksandar Pavlovic’s injury and this will mean that either Konrad Laimer or Leon Goretzka will partner Joshua Kimmich in the Bayern midfield. Both Laimer and Goretzka have fallen out of favour under head coach Vincent Kompany as they do not fit his style of play.

Michael Olise could see a return to the starting 11 as his skill set will be useful against an Augsburg side that is likely to sit back. Elsewhere there are likely to be no significant changes in the team with Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Kimmich and the central defensive duo of Min-Jae Kim and Dayot Upamecano all set to start.

Predicted Bayern Munich XI (via kicker):

Manuel Neuer – Raphaël Guerreiro, Dayot Upamecano, Min-Jae Kim, Alphonso Davies – Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka – Michael Olise, Jamal Musiala, Kingsley Coman – Harry Kane
