Sky Germany reports that it can not be ruled out that Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.
Sané’s contract at the club expires in the summer and while talks over a new contract are commencing, it is not that straightforward. Some at the club would not be opposed to selling Sané in the winter if a good enough offer came in, but the winger has no interest in leaving in January.
Max Eberl is in talks with Sané over a contract extension but it would involve a new deal that is heavily weighted on performance bonuses. However, no deal has yet been presented to Sané. The winger wants to stay at the Allianz Arena and would be willing to take a pay cut if necessary.
Sané is also not happy with the fact that when Bayern are publically asked about contract extensions, he is hardly mentioned alongside Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich.
The winger has struggled this year, at the start of last season, Sané was in great form but due to injuries and a lack of fitness after the summer he has failed to replicate anything close to this form. On top of this, the arrival of Michael Olise and an upturn in the form of Serge Gnabry has meant that there is more competition for the winger positions in Vincent Kompany’s starting 11.
